The dreamlike world of hobbits and elves from J. R. R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” came to St. Margaret’s as a symphony and choral concert. During the two-hour evening performance, the fabulous trilogy was brought to life in a unique musical event. From the menacing sound of Mordor and the sharp attack of the Black Rider to the beautiful lyrical melody of the Elves, nearly 100 performers will transform St. Margaret Quarry into a Middle Earth musical environment.
In addition to acting, Billy Boyd also works as a singer, musician and composer. He plays some instruments such as guitar, bass and drums and sings baritone and tenor. In “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” he sang “The Edge of Night.” He also wrote and sang “The Last Goodbye.” Howard Shore composed the film trilogy “Lord of the Rings” and “The Little Hobbit” and won the Oscar for it.
